Privacy at David Arthur Software

Last updated: 8 September 2026

David Arthur Software (“DAS”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a sole trader based in York, United Kingdom, and is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with our applications and this website.

This page covers what is true of all our products, and this website. Because our applications do very different things with data — one runs entirely on your machine, one sends audio to AI providers for transcription, one is used by families to manage children’s screen time — each product also has its own privacy policy describing what that particular app collects. One document covering all three would be true of some and misleading about others.

1. The policy for your product

If a product policy and this page differ about that product, the product policy applies.

2. What we never do, in any product

3. This website

These pages are served as static files. We set no advertising or tracking cookies here and use no third-party analytics on this site. Our hosting provider records ordinary web-server information, including IP addresses, in order to serve pages and protect against abuse.

4. How long we keep things

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, and the product policies give the specific periods. Where you have contacted us directly, we keep that correspondence for up to 24 months. Records we are legally required to keep — principally sales and accounting records — are retained for as long as UK company and tax law requires, currently six years, and are not deleted on request.

5. International transfers

Some of the service providers used by our paid products operate outside the UK and EEA. Where personal data is transferred, it is done under the safeguards described in the relevant product policy.

6. Children

Our applications are not directed at children, with one deliberate exception: QuietTime is a parental tool, installed and configured by an adult, to manage a child’s device. Its policy explains what it records and where that information stays.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. The product policy linked above explains what data that product actually holds, which determines what such a request can return — for products that hold nothing about you, there is nothing to return.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@davidarthur.app. We will respond within one month. We may need to verify your identity first. There is no fee unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data-protection authority.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. Changes are reflected by updating the “last updated” date above. Material changes to a product’s own policy are described on that product’s page.
