CCTV Converter

Convert and view your Chinese CCTV camera files.

Free • No ads • No accounts • Works offline • 16 languages

Most Chinese DVRs save footage in proprietary formats that no normal player will open. CCTV Converter detects the format and converts to standard MP4 in parallel for big batches, optionally burning a date/time clock into the video for evidence use. New in v2.0: trim and enhance clips in a built-in editor, compare up to six cameras in sync, and automatically pull out just the moments with motion — all on your own machine, in your language.

New in Version 2.0

Version 2.0 grows CCTV Converter from a fast converter into a full review-and-edit tool — still free, still entirely offline.

✂️

Built-in Editor

Trim to the exact frame, crop or rotate, and fine-tune brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness. Knock back night-time grain with adjustable noise reduction, set the output resolution and quality, and save your settings as reusable presets. Originals are never altered.

📹

Multi-Camera Sync View

Play up to six cameras side by side on one shared timeline, with per-camera offset nudging to line up clocks that drifted. Snapshot every angle at once, build a contact sheet, or export a synchronized composite video.

🏃

Motion Highlights

Let the app scan hours of footage and pull out only the clips where something actually moves — with adjustable sensitivity and pre/post-roll padding. Export each event on its own or as a single combined highlight reel.

🎞️

Filmstrip & Motion Heatmap

Scrub instantly with a thumbnail filmstrip and hover preview, and spot the action at a glance from a motion heatmap painted along the seek bar.

📁

Watch-Folder Mode

Point it at a folder and forget it: new recordings are detected and converted automatically as they land — a hands-off workflow for an always-on DVR.

GPU Acceleration

Optional hardware encoding on NVIDIA, Intel and AMD GPUs, auto-detected with a transparent fall-back to CPU — faster re-encodes whenever the source needs one.

Files Your Player Won't Open?

If your camera came from a Chinese vendor, the SD card is probably full of .ps, .dav or .264 files that VLC and Windows Media Player refuse. CCTV Converter detects the format from each file's signature bytes and turns it into a clean MP4 your phone, browser or any video editor can open.

How It Works

1

Pick the SD card or folder

Drag a folder onto the window or click Browse. CCTV Converter walks the date subfolders and finds every video file.

2

Filter and select

Hide short clips, narrow by date or time of day, search by name, or just tick whole days. Folders with no matches hide themselves.

3

Convert & review

Stream-copy to MP4 in seconds (no quality loss). Preview, scrub frame by frame, snapshot moments, and merge a day's clips into one continuous video.

See It in Action

From a card full of unplayable files to reviewed, edited, shareable footage — all on your own PC.

CCTV Converter main window: file browser, filters and live preview

Browse, filter & convert

Point it at your DVR's card, narrow down by date, time of day or filename, and batch-convert to MP4 — with instant preview, a thumbnail filmstrip and a motion heatmap along the seek bar.

CCTV Converter built-in editor with crop, rotate and image-adjustment controls

Edit & clean up — new in 2.0

Trim to the exact frame, crop and rotate, then rescue dark night footage with brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness and noise-reduction controls. Set the output size and quality, save presets, and export — your originals are never touched.

CCTV Converter multi-camera sync view showing six cameras at once

Compare six cameras in sync — new in 2.0

Play up to six angles side by side on a single timeline, nudge each camera's offset to line up clocks that drifted, then snapshot every view at once or export a synchronized composite.

CCTV Converter settings: encoder, output naming and watch-folder automation

Set it up your way

Pick your encoder (including GPU acceleration on NVIDIA, Intel or AMD), choose how output files are named, and switch on a hands-off watch-folder that converts new recordings automatically as they land.

Features

🔍

Smart Format Detection

Magic-byte detection identifies Xiongmai, Dahua, Hikvision, raw H.264/H.265 streams and 20+ other formats automatically — no guessing required.

Lossless Conversion

Stream-copy where possible (no re-encoding) means a 30-second clip converts in well under a second with zero quality loss. Falls back to a clean H.264 re-encode if needed.

🚀

Parallel Conversion

Convert up to 8 files at once on multi-core machines. A full day of recordings that used to take minutes now finishes in seconds. Adjustable from 1 to 8 concurrent jobs.

🕘

Date / Time Burn-in

Optional clock overlay burned right into the converted MP4 — perfect for insurance claims, court evidence and incident reports where timestamped footage is required.

🌐

16 Languages

Full UI in English, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Filipino, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian and Arabic (right-to-left). Auto-detects your Windows language; switch any time with one click.

🔍

Powerful Filters

Hide clips below 10 / 20 / 30 / 45 seconds or 1 to 5 minutes. Filter by date, time of day or filename. Folders without matches collapse out of the way automatically.

📹

Built-in Preview

Play, pause, frame-by-frame stepping, variable speed (0.5×–8×), volume control, and a fullscreen mode with draggable controls so you can see what's underneath.

📷

Frame Snapshots

Capture any frame as JPEG or PNG — perfect for incident reports, social posts or sharing a moment without the whole clip.

🔗

Merge to Single MP4

Stitch a day's clips, or any selection across multiple folders, into one continuous video in chronological order. Useful for handing footage to insurers or police.

📝

CSV Export

Export the full file list with filename, size, duration, resolution, format and timestamps — handy for cataloguing or evidence trails.

📥

Drag & Drop

Drag any folder onto the window to scan it instantly. Last source and output folders are remembered between sessions.

Cancellable Operations

Stop a long scan or batch conversion at any moment. Partial files are cleaned up automatically so nothing's left in a bad state.

📁

Optional Cleanup

Tick "Delete source files after successful conversion" to reclaim SD-card or drive space as you go — with confirmation.

Fully offline — your footage stays yours

CCTV Converter has no network code. Nothing is uploaded, no accounts, no telemetry, no ads. The only data the app stores is your last-used folder paths, in a local config file. Read our Privacy Policy →

Get from Microsoft Store

Or for advanced users: download the installer directly (123 MB, Windows 10/11 64-bit, self-contained).

Heads up: the direct .exe is unsigned, so the first time you run it Windows SmartScreen will show a "Windows protected your PC" dialog — click More infoRun anyway. The Microsoft Store version is signed by Microsoft and skips this entirely.
