Privacy FAQ
Does DuoVox store audio or transcripts?
In Private Mode, DuoVox does not store audio, transcripts, or metadata. Everything is processed in real time and discarded immediately. In Standard Mode, audio is streamed to third-party AI services for processing and is not stored by DuoVox. Transcriptions exist only in your device’s memory during the session.
Is DuoVox HIPAA compliant?
DuoVox does not claim HIPAA certification and does not sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs). Organizations must determine whether using DuoVox fits their own compliance requirements.
Can DuoVox be used in healthcare settings?
Many healthcare professionals use DuoVox in Private Mode because it does not store any audio or transcripts. However, each organization must evaluate its own compliance obligations before adopting any tool.
Does DuoVox send data to third-party services?
In Private Mode, audio is processed through third-party AI services for real-time transcription but is not stored or retained by DuoVox or (under current provider policies) by the AI provider. In Standard Mode, the same applies. In Offline Mode, no data leaves your device at all.
Does DuoVox use my data to train AI models?
No. DuoVox does not use any of your data for training. Under current provider policies, data submitted via API is not used to train third-party AI models either.
Can DuoVox help my organization meet privacy requirements?
DuoVox provides privacy-preserving tools such as zero-retention Private Mode and offline processing. However, compliance decisions remain with the organization. We recommend reviewing our Security & Privacy page and Privacy Policy to understand exactly how data is handled.
